Welcome, from 2 Crazy Sisters from Pueblo, Colorado

Thank you for stopping by and learning more about us. That's Monique on the left and Tracey on the right.
We are two sisters who decided retirement looked a lot more fun surrounded by fiber! After calling it quits on our first careers – Tracey as an elementary school art teacher and Monique as a Colorado State Park Ranger – we teamed up for the most awesome retirement gig: opening our very own studio & gift shop called Curated Pueblo right here on Pueblo's beautiful Historic Riverwalk!
This cozy spot is where we get to do what we love: creating all sorts of unique fiber goodies with our own hands and meeting all our great customers. You'll also find wonderful treasures from other local makers sharing our shelves, and we absolutely love sharing the joy of crafting! Pull up a chair at our large maker table where we teach fun classes like needle felting and other crafty skills.
Our love for making things started way back, thanks to lessons from our creative Granny and Mummy. Believe it or not, we put on our first craft show together well over thirty years ago! For years, crafting was our fun "second job" while Tracey inspired hundreds of young artists daily and Monique managed our beautiful local state park.
Our journey to fiber wasn't exactly a straight line. After random shows here and there, we officially launched a hobby business called "Gone to the Dogs" back in 2003, focusing on gourmet dog treats inspired by our beloved Cocker Spaniels, Bonnie and Clyde.
But eventually, the crafting bug bit again, and by 2011, a new obsession had taken hold: felted wool! So, "The Felted Dog" was born. It might seem like an odd combo – fiber and dogs – but it made perfect sense to two perfectly crazy sisters! We phased out the dog treats completely in 2014 to pour all our energy into the wooly wonders we love creating today. We kept the name, though, as a fun nod to our entrepreneurial beginnings schlepping dog biscuits!
Now, let's clear the air on one thing: despite the name, our fiber goodies are not made with dog hair! We primarily work our magic with sheep's wool. Our goal has always been to create truly one-of-a-kind felted items that are also affordable – think of it as "felt for the common folk"!
So, how do we turn all that fluff into fantastic creations? We use a few different felting techniques:
We're thrilled to be sharing our passion with you from our spot on the Riverwalk. Come visit, see what we're making, discover other local talent, or maybe even join us for a class!
Meet the current rulers of the roost: Joey Bag O'Donuts (Monique's lovable goofball) and Pebbles (Tracey's sweet shadow). This brother-sister tag team keeps us on our toes! If you hit the jackpot, you might drop into the shop on a day when one of these superstars is holding court as the official Shop Dog on Duty!
These handsome fellas are Tracey's little rescued outlaws. We call them Chi-wannaknows... they are half Chihuahua and half we wanna know! These brothers have always been crazy, but it keeps them from going insane. If you get that reference...you are AWESOME!
This handsome pound puppy is believed to be a Shepard Mix. He is Monique's handsome protector and his claim to fame is being called "bite-your-face-off-security." Of course, he's the sweetest dog in the world to everyone who isn't trying to get through his front door or get too close to his Mama.
This last little cutie is Monique's Sweet Pea, Annie. She is a Blue Heeler born on a working cattle ranch. She missed the memo telling her that she isn't in charge of world!
Let's give it up for the original partners in crime, Bonnie and Clyde! This pair of OG Cocker Spaniel litter mates weren't just stealing hearts, they were the furry masterminds whose demand for yummy treats sparked our whole dog biscuit baking adventure and got our entrepreneurial juices flowing!
